Hi! I am Lisa Cummings and my passion is nutrition and wellness. I help women squeeze a healthy lifestyle into a busy schedule by providing simple, yet effective, ways to lose weight, feel happier and energized and live longer lives. My programs are holistic, incorporate the four pillars of health: lifestyle, exercise, attitude and nutrition and include practical, yet easily maintainable tools. With over 20 years in the corporate world and a mother of a grade-schooler, I understand first-hand the challenges of maintaining a healthy lifestyle while juggling the balance of a career and family.
Over the years, I did not always embrace wellness as I do today. I had always been into physical fitness but I was not fueling my body with the proper foods. When I was in my 20’s, I lived on processed foods, excess sugar and salt and lots of caffeine. When I got into my 30’s, I became more of an emotional eater and the excess processed foods started to take its toll. I would go through cycles of weight gain and feeling lethargic with low self-esteem then pull myself out of the funk and get back to the gym. However, because my eating habits didn’t change that much, the bloating and excess weight wouldn’t budge. These cycles continued for many years.
Then, I got sick and tired of feeling sick and tired and started to focus on all things nutrition. As I started to reduce the processed foods and sugar, I started to lose the extra weight and bloat and regained my energy. As I started to find my old self again, I became inspired to become a health coach to turn my personal interest into a career in assisting others to reach their wellness goals. There is such a wealth of information available in the media, it is hard to know what to believe or where to start.

I enrolled in the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute Health Coaching Program. The wealth of information and practical tools that I found in Dr. Sears’ program has helped me to implement easily maintainable healthy lifestyle changes for me and my family. My 9-year old son is now more conscious of the foods that he eats. He reads nutrition labels and opts for healthier selections than he had previously.
So, after about a year of diet cleanup, I cut out almost all processed foods, eliminated excess sugar, ditched the diet soda and cut the coffee to one cup (vs. one pot!) per day. I must say that I feel as great today (in my 40’s) as I did in my 20’s!

I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Certified Health Coach from the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. In my spare time, I enjoy biking, participating family fun runs and relaxing with a good book.
